(Editor’s Note: Florida Republican Congressman Daniel Webster, Clermont, is 77-years-old, first elected in 2011 but has also served in the 8th Congressional District from 2011 to 2017 and in the 10th Congressional District from 2013 to 2017. Previously, he served in the Florida Senate from 1998 to 2008 serving as Majority Leader from 2006 to 2008 and also in the Florida House of Representatives from 1980 to 1998 serving as Speaker of the Florida House from 1996 to 1998. Webster is the longest serving Republican legislator in Florida history. He is not running for re-election in 2026. Webster is a conservative and owns a family business. Florida Republican Congressman Gus Bilirakis of Palm Harbor, in the Tampa Bay area, is 63-years-old and has been in office since 2006. He succeeded his father, Michael, who served as a Congressman in the 9th District. From 1998 to 2006, Bilirakis served in the Florida House of Representatives 48th District. He also is an attorney that operates a probate and estate practice. The Florida Congressional delegation consists of 20 Republicans and 8 Democrats.)
