(Editor’s Note: Siskiyou County has a population of 42,013 is 6,287 square miles and lies in the Shasta Cascade region with its highest point being the 14,171 foot Mount Shasta, a tourist destination. The county seat is Yreka, population 7,807 which is located 22 miles south of the Oregon border. The county is in District 1 and represented by Senator Megan Dahle (R) and Assemblywoman Heather Hadwick (R).)

(Editor’s Note: New York’s 78- year-old Democratic Congressman Jerry Nadler, Manhattan, has been in office since 1992. He has served as Chair of the House Judiciary Committee, is Jewish, an advocate for LGBTQ rights and abortion rights. Previously, he served in the New York State Assembly from 1976 to 1992 representing several different districts. Nadler is not running for re-election in 2026. New York’s 71-year-old Democratic Congressman Adriano de Jesus Espailiat, Manhattan, has been in office representing District 13 since 2016 and is the first Dominican American legislator in Congress. He is chair of the Hispanic Caucus and co-chair of the Laitno-Jewish Caucus. His great grandfather was a Dominican President. Espailiat also served in the New York State Senate representing the 31st District from 2010 to 2016 and the New York State Assembly representing the 72nd district from 1996 to 2010. The New York Congressional delegation consists of 19 Democrats and 7 Republicans.)
