Prayer Focus:  Pray for citizen journalists in California Senate District 13; for California Assemblywoman Liz Ortega (D-20); and Texas Congressman Keith Self (R-3) and Texas Congressman Pat Fallon (R-4).

Election Countdown: 61 Weeks

Local (Community): Pray for citizen journalists in California Senate District 13 which is represented by California State Senator Josh Becker and includes San Joaquin County as well as parts of Stanislaus and Contra Costa Counties.

Scripture: Matthew 6:9-13: “In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread…” (NKJV).

Prayer: “Father, raise up citizen journalists in California Senate District 13.”

County/State: Pray for California Assemblywoman Liz Ortega (D-20), age 48, first elected in 2022.

(Editor’s Note: Assemblywoman Liz Ortega is from the southern East San Francisco Bay and was born in Guadalajara and immigrated to the U.S. at age 3. She was raised in Oakland and serves as a statewide political director for a labor union council and became the first Latina elected representing all labor unions in Alameda County.)

Prayer: “Jesus, give your counsel to California Assemblywoman Liz Ortega.”

Nation/Nations: Pray for Texas Congressman Keith Self (R-3), age 72, first elected in 2022 and Texas Congressman Pat Fallon (R-4), age 57, first elected in 2020.

(Editor’s Note: Keith Self accepted an appointment to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and began a 25-year career of service with Airborne Infantry and Special Forces. He deployed to Grenada, Bosnia, Afghanistan, and Iraq. He retired with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Upon retiring, he was elected County Judge and served three consecutive terms. Pat Fallon is a staunch advocate for US national security. Prior to his time in Congress, Fallon represented North Texas in the State House and Senate. He has founded over a dozen successful companies. He is a member of the University of Notre Dame 1988 National Championship team under coach Lou Holtz and has served as an officer in the United State Air Force. He ran 7 marathons on 7 continents in 7 days in 2016.)
