(Editor’s Note: Mono County has a population of 12,991 and is 3,044 square miles in East Central California along the Nevada state line and is the fourth least populous county in California with only one city–Mammoth Lakes. The county seat is Bridgeport.)

County/State: Pray for California State Senator Sabrina Cervantes (D-31) of Corona.

(Editor’s Note: 38-year-old California State Senator Sabrina Cervantes, was first elected in 2024. Previously she had served in the California Assembly, D-60, from 2016 to 2022 and from 2022-2024 as a California Assemblywoman, D-58. She is a member of the California Latino Legislative Caucus, the California Legislative Women’s Caucus, and the California Legislative LGBTQ Caucus. In 2019, she became the first member of the California Legislature to have triplets while serving in office. She now considers herself LGBTQ. She is a member of the Human Rights Campaign and is associated with two boards for the University of California, Riverside where she got her undergraduate degree.)

(Editor’s Note: Illinois 81-year-old Democrat Senator Dick Durbin, first elected to the U.S. Senate in 1996. He previously served in the Illinois House as a Congressman, D-20, from 1982 to 1996. He has served as U.S. Senate Majority Whip for three terms and as Senate Minority Whip for two terms. Durbin is an advocate for gun control, childcare support, for the DREAM immigration act, and voted against the Iraq War. Illinois 57-year-old Democrat Senator Tammy Duckworth first elected in 2016 is a veteran of the Iraq War where she lost both legs in 2004 once her U.S. Army helicopter was shot down. She joined the U.S. Army Reserve in 1992 and then the Illinois Army Guard in 1996. She has served as a U.S. Senator from 2016 and in 2012 became the first Asian American elected to Congress from Illinois, the first woman with a disability, and the first woman born in Thailand elected to Congress, D-8.)
