Prayer Focus:  Pray for citizen journalists in California Senate District 38; California Assemblyman Al Muratsuchi (D-66); Virginia Congressman Rob Wittman (R-1) and Virginia Congresswoman Jen Kiggans (R-2).

Local (Community): Pray for citizen journalists in California Senate District 38.

(Editor’s Note: California Senate District 38 is represented by 49-year-old Democrat Catherine Blakespear of Encinias, first elected in 2022 and formerly an estate planner and journalist. The district includes coastal north San Diego County and the southern edge of Orange County.)

Scripture: Matthew 6:9-13: “In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread…” (NKJV).

Prayer: “Father, raise up citizen journalists in California Senate District 38.”

(Editor’s Note: CA State Assemblyman Al Muratsuchi, first elected in 2012 and has served continuously since 2016. He is 59-years-old and previously served as a California Department of Justice Deputy Attorney General and as a Torrance Unified School District and Southern California Regional Occupational Center trustee as well as the Regional director of the Japanese American Citizens League.)

Nation/Nations: Pray for Virginia Congressman Rob Wittman (R-1) and Virginia Congresswoman Jen Kiggans (R-2).

(Editor’s Note: Virginia Congressman Rob Wittman, from Montross, in the Richmond suburbs, is 67-years-old, first elected to Congress in 2007 and previously served in the Virginia Department of Health for 20 years as an environmental health specialist and on the Montross Town Council from 1992 to 1996 and on the Westmoreland Board of Supervisors from 1996 to 2005 and was chair the last two years. He is Episcopalian. Virginia Congresswoman Jen Kiggans, 54-years-old, Virginia Beach, has served in District 2 since 2023. Previously she held the 7th Virginia Senate district seat from 2020 to 2022. She was in the U.S. Navy for 10 years as a helicopter pilot and served inthe Iraq and the Kosovo War and lived in Japan where she taught English and was a Navy spouse. She is Catholic. Virginia has 11 House members: 6 Democrats and 5 Republicans.)
