(Editor’s Note: Plumas County has a population of 19,770 and is 2,554 square miles and is located in the Sierra Nevada, named after the Feather River. The county seat is Quincy and the only incorporated city is Portola with just over 2,000.)

(Editor’s Note: 82-year-old California State Senator Steve Choi was first elected in 2024. Previously he served three terms as a California State Assemblymember representing the 68th District from 2016 to 2022. Choi served two terms as Irvine Mayor from 2012 to 2016. From 2004 to 2012, he served two terms on the Irvine City Council, where he was the first Asian American to have been elected to a four-year term. In 1998, he became the first Asian-American elected to the Irvine Unified School Board. He has also taught at several universities and colleges.)

Before going into elected office, he was a venture capitalist and is the wealthiest Democrat in Congress. Virginia’s 68-year-old Democratic Senator Tim Kaine has served since 2013. In 2016, he was the Vice Presidential nominee for Hillary Clinton. Kaine served as the 70th Governor of Virginia from 2006 to 2010. He was Lieutenant Governor of Virginia from 2002 to 2006 and served as Richmond Mayor from 1998 to 2001.)
