(Editor’s Note: Virginia’s 67-year old Congressman Morgan Griffity has been in office since 2011 and represents Roanoke/Salem. Previously, he was in the Virginia House of Delegates from 1994 to 20011 and was the Majority Leader from 2000 to 2010. Congressman Morgan Griffith was also an attorney in private practice representing those with traffic violations and DUIs. Virginia’s 39-year-old Congressman Suhas Subramanyan has been in office since 2025. Previously he served in the 32nd Virginia Senate District from 2024 and the 87th Virginia House of Delegates from 2020 to 2024. His parents are from India. He is Hindu and served under the Obama administration as a White House advisor and was in private practice and is the first South Asian legislator elected to the Virginia General Assembly in 2019. He also served as a volunteer EMT and firefighter. Virginia has a Congressional delegation of 11 members: 6 Democrats and 5 Republicans.)
