(Editor’s Note: 46-year-old California State Senator Mike McGuire, D-2, first elected in 2014, of Healdsburg, represents a district of seven counties that extends from the San Francisco Bay to the Oregon border along the Pacific Coast. He was elected Senate pro-temp in 2024 and previously served as the majority leader from 2022 to 2024. McGuire served in the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors from 2011 to 2014, elected to the Healdsburg City Council in 2004 and was the youngest ever elected to the Healdsburg School District Board in 1998 at age 19. He is running for Congressional District 1 in 2026. His family farms grapes and prunes.)

(Editor’s Note: Mississippi’s 74-year-old Republican Senator Roger Wicker was first elected in 2007. He is pro-Ukraine and a pro-gun advocate. Wicker previously served in the Mississippi Congressional 1st District seat from 1995 to 2007 and also in the Mississippi State Senate District 6 from 1988 to 1995. He is a former judge advocate for the U.S. Air Force from 1976 to 1980 and served in the U.S. Air Force Reserve from 1980 to 2003. He is a member of the First Baptist Church. Mississippi’s 66-year-old Republican Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith has served since 2018. She is the first woman to represent Mississippi in Congress. She is a major supporter of Gold Star Families. From 2012 to 2018 she was Mississippi’s Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce. Cindy Hyde-Smith also represented the 39th District of the Mississippi State Senate. She served as a Democrat until switching parties in 2010. Hyde-Smith is a Baptist.)
