(Editor’s Note: Assemblyman Isaac Bryan, Los Angeles, 39-years-old, first elected in 2021 in District 54 then elected in District 55 in 2022, served as Majority Leader of the California House in 2023. Assemblyman Bryan is an advocate for juvenile justice and criminal justice reform as well as defunding the police. He is the founding director of the UCLA Black Policy Project and a former director of policy for UCLA’s Ralph J. Bunche Center for African American Studies. He also served on the staff of former Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti.)
