(Editor’s Note: Sierra County has a population of 3,236, is 953 square miles and lies in the Sierra Nevada between Sacramento and the Nevada border. It is a strong Republican county and Downieville is the county seat and the county’s only incorporated city is Loyalton.)

(Editor’s Note: Massachusetts’ 76-year-old Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warner, a ranking member of the Senate Banking Committee, has been in office since 2012. She is a former law professor at several universities, the first female U.S Senator from Massachusetts, a progressive, a prolific writer and author of books, and former candidate for U.S. President in 2020. Massachusetts’ 79-year-old Democratic Senator Ed Markey, a ranking member of the Senate Small Business Committee, was first elected in 2013. Previously, he served in the U.S. House of Representatives from Massachusetts from 1976 to 2013. While in Congress from 2007 to 2013 he served as Chair of the House Global Warming Committee. Markey also served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives from 1973 to 1976. He is a progressive. Markey was in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1968 to 1973.)
