Local (Community): Pray for citizen journalists in California Senate District 28, which is represented by California State Senator Lola Smallwood-Cuevas, Los Angeles, first elected in 2022.

(Editor’s Note: California Assemblywoman Blanca Rubio, 56-years-old, first elected in 2016, is an advocate for victims of domestic abuse. The California 48th Assembly District represents eastern San Gabriel Valley and foothill communities. Her sister, Susan Rubio, is a California State Senator. Blanca Rubio was born in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico and became a citizen in 1994. Previously she was a teacher in Fontana Unified School District and then served as a Vice President and then President of the Baldwin Park Unified School District.)

(Editor’s Note: Mississippi Congressman Trent Kelly, is 59-years-old, and was elected in 2015. He attended law school and worked in private practice before becoming a city prosecutor and then was elected as district attorney in 2011. He began his career in the Mississippi Army National Guard in 1985 and received deployments in Desert Storm, 1990, and the Iraq War, 2005 and received two bronze medals and several other commendations. He retired from the National Guard in April, 2025 as an Assistant Adjutant General. Mississippi Congressman Bennie Thompson is 77-years-old, and was elected in 1992 and has been elected for 17 Congressional terms. His district includes most of Jackson and is the only majority-black district in the state. He has served as chair of the Committee on Homeland Security from 2007 to 2011 and from 2019 to 2023. He was both the first Democrat and the first African American to chair the committee. Previously he served as a school teacher in Madison, and as an alderman, 1969-1973 and Mayor, 1973-1980, of Bolton before being elected to the Hinds County Board of Supervisors, 1980 to 1993. Mississippi has a Congressional delegation of four: 3 Republicans and 1 Democrat.)
